In Mumbai, where architecture increasingly fuses design with ecology, a new lighting collection emerges—Corallite—a series of sculptural objects that do more than illuminate; they shape space into living, breathing art.
Created under the visionary leadership of Sanjay Puri and his award-winning firm Sanjay Puri Architects, the Corallite collection is a poetic union of biomimicry and modern sustainability. Inspired by the intricate structures and textures of coral reefs, the collection features floor and pendant lamps, as well as central and side tables. Each piece glows with a gentle radiance that emanates not from a single point, but diffuses throughout its entire surface—light passing through micro-pores in the material to create an ambient aura reminiscent of corals glowing under the sea.
The material at the heart of Corallite is foam concrete (FEFS Board), an innovative, porous composition made from up to 80% recycled content. Its production requires almost no water or electricity, resulting in an exceptionally low carbon footprint. This proves that sustainability and high design can coexist in perfect harmony.
Unlike traditional lighting, Corallite doesn’t project light—it is light. Every lamp or table becomes a luminous sculpture that seems to glow from within, subtly pulsating and responding to the space it inhabits. The light is soft, diffuse, and highlights the deep, tactile textures of the material itself.
Behind this poetic approach is Sanjay Puri Architects, a globally acclaimed studio with over 360 international awards and more than 50 active projects across India. Their philosophy goes beyond aesthetics and function, embracing environmental responsibility, material experimentation, and the creation of spaces that possess emotional resonance.
Corallite is not just a collection you see—it’s one you feel. It’s light you breathe, touch, and remember.
